There are millions of people who work as private investigators, under cover agents, detectives, security guards and professional crime fighters who have the latest artillery, radars, helicopters and power speed vehicles to protect us. Yet every minute a human being somewhere in the world will commit a violent crime that will cost the courts large sums of money to investigate and prosecute. World crime has become such a major epidemic that many dedicated police officers are leaving law enforcement to work in other fields due to frustration. There are countries that use the death penalty to control criminal behavior, while many others build larger jails and are imposing higher fines to respond to the crisis; but in spite of harsher penalties world crime continues to grow out of control. |
